Climate change presents unprecedented challenges for agriculture in Sierra Leone. Rising temperatures, unpredictable rainfall patterns, and extreme weather events threaten traditional farming practices. At Farm-To-Grow, we're confronting these challenges head-on with climate-smart rice production across our 15,000 acres.

Our approach combines traditional knowledge with modern science. We've introduced resilient rice varieties that can withstand both drought and flooding conditions. These varieties, developed through years of agricultural research, maintain high yields even under stress conditions.

Water management is crucial to our success. We've implemented sophisticated irrigation systems that optimize water use while ensuring crops receive adequate moisture throughout the growing season. Our fields feature contour bunding and water-harvesting structures that capture every precious drop during the rainy season.

The results speak for themselves. Our climate-smart rice varieties have demonstrated 30% higher resilience to weather variations compared to traditional varieties. This means more stable yields, better food security, and improved incomes for the farmers we work with.

Beyond production, we're committed to knowledge transfer. Our extension services train local farmers in these techniques, ensuring that climate-smart agriculture becomes the norm rather than the exception across Port Loko District.
